Ahoy, Digital Wayfarer, and welcome to my cyber port.
A writer and author of middle-grade fantasy, I was born in Canada but have lived virtually everywhere else for the last 20 years, including Greece, Italy, Chile, and the US. Currently, I divide my time between my base in Miami and my home in the mountains of southern Crete, spending as much time as possible in Athens and Venice.
When people ask me what kind of writer I am, I always tell them the same thing: I’m a gravedigger. In other words, I don’t visit places (or subjects) — I exhume them. A byproduct of my insatiable curiosity, once hooked on something or somewhere, it’s away to the historical mine I go with my digital pickaxe and the kind of single-minded determination one typically reserves for things like, say, overthrowing governments or slaying dragons.
Nothing and nowhere has dug its hooks into me more deeply than Venice, and I have spent countless months there doing research for my soon-to-be-released middle-grade fantasy-adventure series, which is (mostly) what you will find me writing about on these digital pages.
Thank you for visiting my small port in this colossal cyber world.
